A minor girl was infected with the polio disease in village Areeja near Shikarpur, a top health official said Thursday. The three-year-old girl, Sobia, aged 3, a daughter of Wajid Ali Pahore, the resident of village Areeja, Union Council Garhi Dakho, Taluka Khanpur, district Shikarpur was reported to have hit by polio virus. Shikarpur’s District Health Officer Dr Shabeer Ahmed Shaikh confirmed that the samples of the girl’s polio case had been sent to an Islamabad laboratory which confirmed that the baby had been tested positive for the polio virus disease.
